Privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
In short
- Calendrop only reads what you give it: text you select or type, an image you add, or what you say. Never the rest of the page.
- That text or image is sent to an AI model to find events, and is never stored by us.
- Events are only saved to your Google Calendar when you click Add.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use your data to train AI models.
Who we are
Calendrop is a Chrome extension and this website. For anything about your data, email calendrop.app@gmail.com.
What Calendrop accesses in your Google account
You sign in with Google. Calendrop asks for these permissions, and uses them only as described:
- Google Calendar events (
calendar.events): to add the events you confirm to your main calendar, to remove an event when you click Undo, and to read your events for the next 7 days for the My week view. - Your email address, name and profile photo (
userinfo.email,userinfo.profile): to show which account you’re signed in with, and to identify your account if you use the Calendrop AI plan.
Calendrop doesn’t read your other calendars, your email or your contacts, and never changes or deletes an event you didn’t add with Calendrop.
Where your text, images, voice and calendar data go
To find events, the text you select or type, and any image you right-click, paste, drop or choose, is sent to an AI model. Which one depends on your choice:
- Your own API key: the text goes straight from your browser to the AI provider you chose, under that provider’s terms. It doesn’t pass through Calendrop’s servers.
- Calendrop AI (free trial or subscription): the text goes to Calendrop’s server, which sends it to the large language model (LLM) provider we use, and returns the events. We only use LLM providers whose terms don’t allow them to train their models on your data.
For the My week summary, the titles and times of your events in the next 7 days are sent to the same AI model, to write the summary and tips you see.
Right-clicked images: Calendrop downloads the image. If the site doesn’t allow that, it takes a screenshot of the visible page in your browser and cuts out just that image; the rest of the screenshot is thrown away straight away and never sent anywhere.
Voice input uses Chrome’s built-in speech recognition: Chrome sends what you say to Google to turn it into text, under Google’s privacy policy. Calendrop only receives the text, which then goes into the text box like anything you type. Chrome asks for your permission before using the microphone.
Your text, images and calendar data are used only to show you these results. Calendrop never stores them on its servers or in its logs.
What Calendrop stores
In your browser (Chrome’s extension storage, on your device): your settings, your AI provider, model and API key if you use your own, and the text you right-clicked until the panel opens. Your API key is only sent to the provider you chose.
On Calendrop’s server, only if you start the free trial or subscribe:
- Your Google account ID, email address, name and profile photo link
- Your trial dates and plan
- For each day: how many requests you made and how much AI they used (counts only, never the text)
- A fingerprint (hash) of your current sign-in, deleted when it expires after about an hour
If you subscribe, payments are handled by our payment provider. We keep your customer and subscription IDs from that provider, never your card details.
Calendrop’s server and database are hosted by a cloud provider in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Usage counts: 12 months.
- Account and plan details: until you ask us to delete your account.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires.
Your choices
- Sign out in Calendrop’s settings removes its access to your Google account. You can also remove it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Remove your API key in Calendrop’s settings, or uninstall the extension to delete everything it stored in your browser.
- Get a copy of, correct or delete the data on our server: email calendrop.app@gmail.com from your Google account’s address. We’ll reply within 30 days.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Calendrop’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google user data is only used to provide the features you see in Calendrop. It isn’t sold, used for ads, used to train AI models, or read by people, except with your permission, for security, or when the law requires it.
Sharing
We only share data with the service providers that run Calendrop, for the purposes above:
- Our LLM provider: the AI model for Calendrop AI
- Our cloud hosting provider: the server and database
- Our payment provider: payments, if you subscribe
- Google: sign-in and your calendar
We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
Children
Calendrop isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above. Big changes will also be shown in the extension before they apply.
